Charles W. Armstrong Fellowships
Charles W. Armstrong Fellowships were created by the Club Board of Directors in 2022 as method of encouraging and recognizing members who provide exemplary support to the Salisbury Kiwanis Charities Endowment Fund.
Salisbury Kiwanis Charities, Inc. was established in 1962 as 501(c)3 organization, with the Endowment Fund created in 2001. Earnings from the Endowment Fund supplement the Club’s Charity Funds in providing support for local children’s programs and Key Club scholarships.
Dr. Charles W. Armstrong was a Charter Member of the Kiwanis Club of Salisbury. He served as Club President in 1928, Lt. Governor of the Carolinas District in 1938, Carolinas District Governor in 1940, and President of Kiwanis International in 1947. As Rowan County Health Director, he guided the Salisbury Kiwanis Club toward adopting children's issues as the major emphasis in the Club’s early years.
