OUR MEETING THIS WEEK
After a break for the Memorial Day holiday, we'll be back at the Salisbury Country Club on Friday at noon for a regular club luncheon meeting. Due to a change in scheduling, our program will be brought by Jason Smith with Lot 14 Auctions on Main. Jason is also owner/operator of the Hot Dog Shack that provides our food at the annual Summer Picnic.
HEALTH & HAPPINESS
Congratulations to Dr. State Alexander on his retirement as Vice-President at Livingstone College. Dr. Alexander will be stepping aside as a member of Kiwanis as well, but Livingstone will be sending Garette Hunter as a new member of our group. Garette serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for the college. Welcome!
Congratulations to our Key Club Scholarship winners for 2024: Jadyn Featherstone from East Rowan; Cora Voyles & Madisyn White from Carson; Tyler Morrison from North Rowan; and Talik Robinson & Leonardo Fragoso-Perez from Salisbury High. Each was provided with a $1,000 scholarship to assist them with upcoming college expenses.
It' s summer time and time for summer camp! We are happy to sponsor some summer camp scholarships for elementary school children to both "Camp Discovery" and "Camp in the City." The two scholarships to Camp Discovery are made in memory of Henry Buck.
Upcoming early birthdays in June include Judy Foote & Mike Peeler on June 1; Ronnie Smith & Tom McElveen on June 5; and Ron Bowers on June 6. There are no early June anniversaries among our group.
