OUR MEETING THIS WEEK

 Our program this Friday will be held off site at the Randy Hemann room at the F&M Bank Professional  Center located on the pedestrian "Easy Street".  Our guest speaker will be Jason Smith with Lot 14 Auctions on Main and the owner/operator of the Hot Dog Shack in Granite Quarry. 

 

OUR MEETING LAST WEEK

President Janet Haynes presided, and the invocation was given by our guest Bernice Orona.   
 
Welcome to Garette Hunter as a new member of our group.  Garette serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for Livingstone College. 
 
Janet Haynes and Eric Lipscomb visited Novant Labor and Delivery where they delivered 5 infant Car seats provided by funds raised by our members and matched by Friends of Rowan.

 Memories Radio's Buddy Poole was our speaker this week. Buddy is a well-known Salisbury native who graduated from South Rowan High School and at 17 years old and a junior year in high school he walked into WSCT and asked for a job. He had many memorable times including several weeks with Wolf Man Jack where he took the opportunity to increase attention to his station. He announced Catawba sports for 22 years. Buddy is still on the radio and celebrates 60 years in the radio business. HEALTH & HAPPINESS

Wendy  Weant landed the part of Beggar Woman in the upcoming performance of Sweeny Todd.
 
Catawba College has Qualified in the Division 2 World Series.
 
Congratulations to the East Rowan Mustangs have won the State Title.
 

OTHER NEWS

We will not meet on Friday, June 14 due to our Family Summer Picnic on Saturday, June 15 at the Rowan Shrine Club, 6480 Long Ferry Road.  The event will be from 11-2 with food provided by The Hot Dog Shack.  Plan to bring family members and lawn chairs.  Register on the phone app or through the website.  Costs are covered through your dues.
