OUR MEETING THIS WEEK
Due to the Independence Week holiday, we will not meet this Friday, July 5. Have a safe and happy 4th!
OUR MEETING LAST WEEK
Our program speaker was Dr. Elizabeth Mitcham with the Exceptional Children's Program of Rowan-Salisbury Schools. Introduced by Dale Basinger's son, Robert, who works in the Department with Dr. Mitcham - she shared that about 10% or 2,250 students in Rowan-Salisbury Schools are covered under the program. The Department has 94 EC Teachers, 122 Assistants, and 80 support staff providing the extra resources needed for these kids to have a successful educational and life experience. The program is offered in traditional classrooms as well as other settings to include homes and hospitals. Most of the funding for these services come from federal and state resources.
VP Melissa Yates presided in the absence of President Janet and President-Elect Erik. Jim Freeman provided the invocation, and Walt Wall did the Health & Happiness Report. Ronnie Smith won the door prize. There was no 50/50 Drawing due to the absence of both David Foote and back-up Cory Kluttz.
